If the rumours are true then they would certainly claim the top celeb spot in Marbella since, well, ever.
The upcoming Starlite Festival – which takes place in Marbella between July 23 and August 24 – will host a number of large acts, including Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias, Jamie Cullum, UB40 and Bryan Adams.
But it will also host the Spanish premiere of World War Z – the latest blockbuster starring Brad Pitt, who, it is rumoured, will be on the red carpet with his wife, Angelina Jolie…
Now, Marbella is well versed in catering to the needs of the world’s rich and famous. But it is rare for such a-list performers at the top of their game to be in Marbella on what amounts to official business. Lounging on the beach or shopping in the luxury stores of Puerto Banús, sure, but attending movie premieres? Not so common.
The screening of World War Z is planned to take place at the Marbella Auditorium, which would make it the world’s first ever open-air film premier, and would be a real feather in the resort’s cap.
Starlite sources have intimated that the red carpet welcome will be laid out for all the stars, with hopes high that Brad and Angelina would be attending.
”We are in high level talks with his people, via Antonio Banderas, at present, and hope we can swing it,” the source told The Local Newspaper. “We are keeping our fingers crossed… it would be amazing for the coast if they came.”
Brad Pitt is no stranger to this part of the world, having enjoyed a honeymoon in the five-star Hotel Bobadilla, near Granada, with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
Here’s hoping the memories of that ultimately messy first marriage don’t come back to haunt him as he contemplates a return visit to Andalucía.
