VIVA's Victoria Atkins will be participating in the 28th annual Marbella half marathon this Sunday.

With 4 young children and a demanding job, you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking our Victoria from Customer Services has a busy life!

So it might be quite difficult to imagine how she has managed to fit in training for Marbella’s half marathon.

But this Sunday, VIVA’s Victoria won’t be celebrating her 12th wedding anniversary in any traditional way – she will be partaking in the annual 21.08km race in Marbella.

Victoria will be running for Cancer research UK in memory of her mother who sadly lost the battle to cancer 18 years ago.

‘It is a brilliant cause and one of the biggest research charities in the world’ says Victoria, ‘Let’s focus on curing cancer – My aim is that my children and future grandchildren will see cancer as a thing of the past.’

Speaking of her late mother, Victoria reveals that her she ‘would be well proud of her’ for what she has achieved.

Cancer Research UKAfter completing the 5km Race for Life in Malága last year, self confessed adrenaline junkie, Victoria, reveals that the only thing she is worried about with the upcoming race is the heat. ‘I’m hoping for a breezy day so I can complete the race in less than 2 and a half hours.’

Joining Victoria for the 21.08km run will be her brother in law, Robert Crane. Age 60, Robert manages to run at least 3 full marathons every year, which Victoria draws inspiration from.

‘Maybe I’m having a midlife crisis!’ She jokes, ‘but I do believe it is important to keep active and I enjoy it.’ It seems Victoria has found her passion and is running with it (pun intended!)

Victoria, a VIVA employee on and off since 2000, and Robert will be running the race along some 1800 other runners from 10am Sunday 29 September. In its 28th consecutive year, the race begins at the Palacio de Congresos de Marbella and is almost always sold out, attracting athletes from all over the Costa del Sol, Spain and abroad.Marbella Half Marathon

The scenic route will see the runners pass the Puerto Deportivo de Marbella before running down the beautiful Paseo Marítimo to Puerto Banús and then towards the finishing line at Marbella’s fishing port where hundreds of people will be cheering them on.

On completion of the race Victoria and her husband with celebrate their wedding anniversary alongside her sister and brother in law with a romantic meal for 4 – that’s if they can still walk!
