Famous faces bring extra heat to Marbella for premiere of The Expendables 3

The Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz and producer Avi Lerner have been in Marbella for the Spanish premiere of their new movie The Expendables 3 (‘Los Mercenarios 3’ in Spanish)…The famous faces that touched down on Spanish soil include Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz and producer Avi Lerner, who all came to promote their latest movie in Marbella at a press conference on Tuesday at the Auditorium of Marbella, as part of the Starlite Festival 2014.

Press from all over the Coast turned up to grill the Hollywood stars.

They arrived smiling and eager to enjoy the sunshine at Marbella’s prestigious Los Monteros Hotel, where they were staying for their brief Spanish spell.

For Stallone “it is the first time” that he has visited Marbella and he explained that he would love to “make a film here” continuting, “It is a privilege to be here. I had never been before, it’s a very nice place and I love the warmth in the atmosphere and the beautiful people.”

On the other hand, Antonio Banderas is no stranger to the area, having been born in Málaga, and owns several properties along the Coast.

The third installment in the film franchise is due to be released in cinemas on August 14 in Spain and centres around the familiar characters,Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team who come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney.

The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
