The world’s number one tennis player Novak Djokovic was spotted shirtless and tanned in Marbella over the weekend – just a few days before the start of Wimbledon next week.
While many other leading tennis players were already in the UK playing at the traditional pre-tournament meet at Queens, the 28-year-old Serbian – who recently won the Australian Open – was looking relaxed ahead of his title defence, having secured his second Wimbledon crown in 2014…
Strolling shirtless through the shore, Djokovic was a man at ease with the world as he turned the heads of fellow beachgoers at the Puerto Banús beach.
Sources have revealed that the champ had been in southern France previously to practice on some grass courts in warm weather, before heading to the Costa del Sol to enjoy some sunshine ahead of yet another examination of Djokovic’s ice-cool reputation as his mettle is put to the test at the All England Club next week.
The star was joined by two female friends as he enjoyed a dip in the sea and lounged on the beach under the baking sun. While most of his nearest rivals were working up a sweat in the UK, Djokovic was doing something he always does before playing Wimbledon – he takes a holiday.
It is a strategy that appears to work well for the Serb, who is now rated as one of the finest tennis players of all time.
Meanwhile, over at Ocean Club in Puerto Banús, rising Premier League star Jack Grealish was snapped partying with a £1,000 bottle of Ciroc Vodka in his hands, just a few days after being photographed lying face down on a street in Tenerife.
The Aston Villa player, 19, has courted a fair bit of controversy since breaking on to the scene last season, and has evidently learned that Marbella is the go-to destination for young, fit, wealthy footballers looking to let their hair down after a long, hard season.
