Tinsa’s recently-published “Vivienda en costa 2018″ (“Coastal property 2018”) report presents some very interesting information with regards to buying tendencies, per metre squared property prices and the quantity of building licences granted in the province of Málaga’s main coastal areas…
The thirteen areas included in the report span the Costa del Sol from Manilva to Nerja, and among them are real estate hotbeds like Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola, Benalmádena and Málaga capital.
One of the areas, however, is somewhat of a surprise package, whose price and sales volume figures leap from the page.
Casares emerged in 2017 with impressive transaction growth statistics, evidencing an interest in the area hitherto unseen by Spanish and foreign homebuyers. 682 residential properties were sold last year, which Tinsa data shows is a 40% increase on any year since 2013 (the previous best was 464 home sales in 2015).
While it cannot contend against the likes of Marbella, Málaga and Mijas Costa in terms of gross property transactions – neither for new build nor for resale homes – its percentage change from 2016 to 2017 was the highest of any area on the Coast for that period.
A staggering 70.5% more homes were sold in Casares last year than the previous year – a figure that is made up of 63.5% and 72.7% increases in new build and resale homes respectively.
