According to Elías Bendodo, president of the region’s tourism authority – Turismo Costa del Sol – major European airlines are offering no fewer than 700,000 more seats on flights to Málaga between October 2016 and March 2017 than were available between the same 6-month period in 2014/2015…
Representing a massive 23% increase, Bendodo put the figures into perspective by explaining that Málaga airport will therefore be receiving nearly 4 million visitors this winter (3,890,000 to be exact), compared with the 3,170,000 passengers who flew into Málaga airport last winter.
He also pointed out that while airlines in Italy, France, Turkey, Denmark and Ireland have all upped the volume of seats on their flights to Málaga for the coming winter season, as usual it is the British market that will be leading the way with an increase of 325,000 additional seats available during the 6-month period.
