Tennis legend and 11-time Grand Slam champion Björn Borg returns to the Puente Romano Tennis Club to take part in this year’s Marbella Masters being held on 25-27 August, where he’ll be joined by former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash; former World Number 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov; former top 15 players Younes El-Alanoui & Ronald Agénor; and Mansour Bahrami, known as “tennis’ greatest entertainer”.
It will be a nostalgic visit for Börg, who was the Puente Romano Tennis Club’s first manager when it opened its doors in 1979 before handing over to Spain’s Manolo Santana. As a member of the ATP, the Club has hosted various prestigious international tournaments and last year held the inaugural edition of the Marbella Masters, attended by Pat Cash, Richard Krajicek, Mansour Bahrami and Martina Hingis, and won by two-time French Grand Slam winner, Sergi Brugera.
Tickets (€9 to €14 each) on 25 & 26 August; (€15 to €23 each) on 27 August are available from organisers Northern Vision, who for a limited period only, are offering 10 general admission tickets for the price of 8; or 4 corporate hospitality tickets for the price of 3. For further information and ticket sales: T. 663 692 829.
Play begins each day at 6pm, doors open at 5.30pm.
