Close to the pretty village of Villa de la Concepción, near the city of Antequera, El Torcal is just off the A45.
There are several different hiking routes varying in length and level of ability.
The highest point in El Torcal is 1,336m above sea level.
Once forming part of the sea bed, over millennia the elements have chiselled the limestone into rock formations that will take your breath away!
On fine days, you can see right across the Mediterranean to the mountains of North Africa.
El Torcal's Visitors Centre, Observatory and Restaurant.
The nearby historic city of Antequera, watched over by its landmark and legendary 800m high La Peña de los Enamorados (Lovers' Rock).
Hikes with knowledgeable and professional guides can be arranged.
El Torcal was formed by massive convulsions in the Earth's crust around 150 million years ago.
A paradise for nature lovers, hikers, geologists, biologists, ornithologists... and photographers.
An alien landscape... but in a good way!
Dating from the dawn of time, El Torcal is Málaga's very own, must-see Jurassic Park... don't miss it!
