TV chef Gordon Ramsay will be filming on the Costa del Sol in May and June

Foul-mouthed TV chef Gordon Ramsay is set to head to the Costa del Sol in May and June to film a new TV series about struggling expat restaurant owners.

The chef, 47, will be bringing his unique brand of motivational encouragement to a selection of handpicked, Brit-owned restaurants along the Coast as restaurateurs compete to earn the recognition as most improved establishment…Ramsay first filmed on the Costa del Sol back in 2007 when an episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares was set in Nerja’s La Parra de Burriana. That particular episode was a resounding success, with British expat owner Laurence Davy seeing his coffers swell soon after the show aired.

This time the set up is similar, with the chef and TV star – who has become a household name on both sides of the Atlantic and throughout Europe – set to focus his fury on British expats who have set up a restaurant in Spain.

The new series also sees Ramsay head to some of Europe’s most popular tourist hotspots, following the chef as he attempts to turn around the fortunes of British culinary entrepreneurs across the continent. Optomen Television is producing the series, which is set to air on British TV later this year.

For Ramsay, the series is an opportunity to train his knives as well as his tongue on a whole new army of willing chefs.

Love him or loathe him, Ramsay’s success in both fame and food cannot be ignored. His restaurants boast an impressive 16 Michelin stars between them, and his Hell’s Kitchen and The F-Word series are watched by millions around the world.

“The series will see Gordon travel to Europe’s holiday hotspots to help Brit-owned restaurants, hotels and B&Bs that are struggling to make ends meet,” said series producer Nicola Lloyd.

Producers are still looking for suitable restaurants to participate, so if you own a dining establishment on the Costa del Sol that you think could do with a Ramsay-endorsed kick up the backside, email with the show’s producers at: [email protected]
