On Friday, 11 July, the Dean of Marbella International University Centre (MIUC), Óscar Martínez Tapia and Marbella’s Culture and Education Councillor, Carmen Díaz presented the scholarship programme that the Town Hall is offering to five young people from the town…
The MIUC, which is situated at Finca El Pinillo and was inaugurated on 10 May, bases its academic excellence on advanced study plans, the intensive use of state-of-the-art technology, and a ‘living and learning’ ethos with a fabulous range of extracurricular activities and sports to choose from, while the onsite campus facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
The five successful scholarship students will have the opportunity to take a degree course in one of the MIUC’s four specialties: International Business, International Relations, Communication, and Advertising & Marketing, all of which are taught in English.
To apply for a scholarship, students must have been registered on the Marbella Town Hall padrón (census list) for the past two years; be younger than 24 on the course start date; have completed their Baccalaureate or equivalent and obtained a minimum average grade of 7.5; and must also pass an English test that will be held at the MIUC on 30 July. The closing date for applications is 19 July.
Because of its small intake of students, Marbella International University Centre – which fulfils all the criteria and fully complies with the standards as established by the Rules and Regulations which govern the Accreditation Standards and Procedures of Higher Education Institutions introduced by the Bologna Declaration – prides itself on its ability to focus on individual development, providing practical applications of the knowledge learnt.
Term starts on Monday, 6 October and in addition to the tuition fees, the scholarship also includes an iPad specially configured for studying online.
So if you, or someone you know, meets all the criteria, get your application in now! It’s a fantastic opportunity to study for that degree… and without even having to leave Marbella.
