Featuring on the itineraries of many of the world’s largest, fastest and plushest of superyachts for several years, Málaga city’s Port Authority has recently announced its intention to create a megayacht marina to serve as a connecting hub for private, multimillion dollar superyachts sailing the well-trodden route between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean…
To be situated next to Málaga’s waterfront shopping centre, Muelle Uno – with its chic eateries and designer boutiques – it is envisaged that up to 40 luxury yachts ranging in length from 30 to 100 metres and up to 20 metres in height will be able to moor in the marina.
Several investors have already expressed their interest in the project and currently have a time span of three months in which to put forward their architectural and economic proposals.
In addition to benefiting from having the capital of the Costa del Sol’s superb cultural attractions, Michelin-starred restaurants and fabulous sandy beaches virtually on the quayside, the strategically located future marina is also conveniently close to the airport – particularly the terminal serving private jets – as well as a high-profile shipyard, while of course Puerto Banús and Marbella are also nearby.
