With initial plans for its development expected to be drawn up in January, the Platinum Estates Group – a Hong Kong-based investment fund – has recently acquired 170,000 square metres of prime coastal land at Las Chapas on the eastern outskirts of Marbella, where a 5-star hotel and 120 luxury villas are to be built…
Headed by Indian entrepreneur Roshni Mohinani, Platinum Estates specialises in the real estate market and although most of its operations take place in Hong Kong and the UK, this is the Group’s sixth venture in Spain, where its substantial investment portfolio includes property in Madrid and Barcelona.
The Marbella land purchase is said to have cost €50 million, with a further €150 million to be ploughed into construction of the resort which, according to Platinum Estates’ Partner in Spain, Juan Luis Segalerva, will be the most luxurious in Spain.
To be built in the style of a Mediterranean village, in addition to the 200-bedroom five-star hotel and its luxury villas, the complex will also include a beach club, as well as exclusive eateries and upscale retail outlets.
