“Spain is an amazing place… and this is the time to take advantage of it,” Donald Trump tells CNBC

OK, so this is a news item we came across yesterday in Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo. Speaking about Europe – and particularly Spain – US magnate Donald Trump is quoted as saying: “You’re getting it for nothing. You’re getting the land for nothing, you’re getting everything for nothing. You have to sit with it for a while, but there are a lot of great opportunities. There’s no question about it.

“Spain is an amazing place, it’s a great country and (now) it’s got a fever, and this is the time to take advantage of it.”

So, could he perhaps be thinking of putting his money where his mouth is?

“I am actually looking at something,” says Trump. “It’s so ridiculous, it’s laughable, and yet I’m thinking about doing something over there with a group that is very smart, and frankly there is an opportunity.”

What, and where that “something” might be – presumably a golf course, hotel, or real estate development – for now at least, he’s not letting on.
