Límite Zero

Ever wanted to travel back in time? Well, now you can on the world's first 'cross-border' Zip Line, Límite Zero!

The new Zip Line ride over the Guadiana River connecting the Spanish village of Sanlúcar de Guadiana with Alcoutim, in Portugal is now officially open!

A privately funded project of Englishman David Jarman, the world’s first – and only – ‘cross-border’ zipline (tirolina in Spanish) crosses 720 metres over the Guadiana River, 50 feet above sea level, connecting the two countries…

Beautiful scenery

Enjoy breathtaking views as you descend into Portugal!

All included in the €15 price tag, users are firstly transported in a 4×4 to the departure platform, which rises from the crest of the stunning environment from just under Sanlúcar’s 17th-century hilltop fort, and then sent whizzing across the river, from Spain to Portugal, descending at speeds between 70 – 80 kph – literally flying through time – gaining an hour due to the time difference between the two countries.

When arriving at the end of the Zip Line, in Portugal, users wanting to return to Spain, have to walk 5 minutes to the Alcoutim jetty where there is a ferry waiting for them for the return crossing. (Passports not required!)

Alcoutim beach

The beautiful riverside beach on the Alcoutim side of the Guadiana River.

So what gives a man the idea of setting up the world’s first international zipline ride? “Two villages in two countries, separated by a river 150 metres wide – a zipline just seemed obvious to me,” says Jarman. “It seemed like a great way to unite both places, since a bridge had been talked about for many years, but was never realized. Plus, I love a challenge!”

An adrenalin hit, breathtakingly-incredible views and time-travel all in one unique and exhilarating experience.
